This is a gallery of pictures that I took at Photoshow 2010 (in Rome, Italy) at Sony’s stand. During the fair I made some sessions showing post-production in Lightroom/Photoshop and others shooting with Sony Alpha cameras. I had the chance to try several lenses, from the spectacular fisheye SAL-16mm F/2.8 to the new zoom 70-200mm F2.8 G, from fixed to the zoom Zeiss lenses. I was well impressed by the completeness of the Sony’s system, and happily tried 3 user-friendly Sony flashes. Here you are some of the picts.
My video tribute for Photoshop 20th anniversary, made screen-recording Adobe Photoshop 1.0.7 on Macintosh System 6.0.8, emulated thanks to Mini vMac. Best viewed full-screen, enjoy it!
I’m pleased to announce a Video Master Class in Malta, in collaboration with Digital Arts Expo. It will be fully dedicated to video editing and post-production, particularly with Premiere Pro and After Effects. The class is scheduled for 13, 14 and 15 July 2009. What are you waiting for? Book your place right now!
I’m pleased to invite you to the FuoriSalone event “Be a Human Pixel”, that I’m organizing with Adobe Italia. All the attendees will have the chance to experience how is being a human pixel, will get an exclusive t-shirt, will be part of a cool stop motion video, will have their name in the closing titles and hopefully a lot of fun during the shooting.
I was invited by Samsung for their stand at Photoshow 2009 fair. I’ve spent 4 days taking, developing and printing pictures, while showing Adobe’s software to people. For a few of those picts I’ll summarize some steps of the postproduction. Here: a portrait developed in Lightroom and finished in Photoshop.
After receiving some feedbacks for my Lightroom preset black & white infrared 01, I decided to test it on other shots and to compare it to three other B&W presets from Inside Lightroom. The samples should give some reference for spotting scenarios of use and the result with the various presets applied.
Today I passed the exam in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for the Adobe Certified Expert program. I share my personal experience and thoughts for other people interested in the certification. Besides the study of help and use of the software, I recommend ExamAids.
Here you are my first Lightroom preset for simulating black and white infrared photography. Basically, it converts a coloured picture in Gray tones, with vivid brightness for tints coming from reds, yellows and greens, while tones coming from blues are strongly darkened. It pushes grain, contrast and shadows.
During the Photoshow we have taken hundreds of shots, thanks to the GX20 that we had in the stand of Samsung. I chose a picture from the ones post-produced at the event in Rome, in order to talk a bit about what was done in Adobe Lightroom 1.3 and Photoshop CS3.
After spending a couple of months in launching the Italian version of this blog, I’m finally coming back to update the English version. Let’s start with some pictures from the Photoshow (the main fair in Italy for photography), in order to show some creative possibilities with Adobe Lightroom 1.4. In particular: black and white conversion, split-toning, selective control on colour and cross processing. For the last one I’m experimenting a preset that you can download in this post.
